Should’ve Done This A Long Time Ago
None of my previous websites ever really worked out, even if a few did last a bit long. Resource sites, design blogs, ezines – they just always felt like work when they were meant to be hobbies. I hate it when things that you would normally enjoy doing suddenly start feeling like chores.
I was a stupid little girl, trying to be professional from the beginning, though it was definitely something I couldn’t pull off. Once I tried making a website that was more personal, everything got so much easier.
Since I’m not trying to live up to any expectations or anything for this site, I don’t feel obligated to do anything. I don’t feel that I need to update it maybe thrice every week. That’s just so stressful to think about; I already have so many other things to deal with.
Designer’s block hasn’t been as much of a nuisance as it was before since this isn’t a design or resource site. Writer’s block isn’t so bad either since I’m not restricting myself to writing only about certain things. With this website, I’m free to design or write anything I feel like designing or writing, so, even if I’m not forcing myself to update a certain amount of times a week, I still end up posting so much more that I did with any other site I owned.
I’m the kind of person that likes to skip ahead. Learning how to code and design, I went for more advanced tutorials instead of learning the basics first. Though my work was usually messy and confusing at first, everything eventually was fixed and understood, so it all did work out in the end. I guess I got so used to that and tried to be so professional that I refused to have something as simple as a blog – silly me.
Ah, I know the feeling! It’s great to just rid your obligations and design the way you want, only trying to satisfy yourself with a design you feel suitable.
Your current design is gorgeous, I should add :)!Oo I just visted Abduzeedo, it was really inspirational! Such great articles. Too bad I’m not a photoshop user u__u haha and FML and MLIA are awesome ^o^

Hehe yeah, I think most kids of our generation have gone through a pokemon phase. It’s kind of sad to know that it still plays a huge part in my life xD aha, I still have all ny pokemon cards and games :3
