School So Far
If you follow me on Twitter, are a regular visitor of my blog, know me in real life or are stalking me (if so, please stop) then you’d probably know that, very recently, my classes have begun. And yes, classes in the Philippines start in June, the same time a lot of you are beginning your summer vacation. Since I hadn’t really done much rambling on my blog recently, I thought, might as well write about school. Who knows, maybe some of you are actually interested in what’s happening in my life.
As of last Thursday, I am now officially a junior. It makes me feel ridiculously old typing it out like that. I still feel like a grade school student, and yet, by the end of the school year, I’d have already gone to prom!
So far, I’ve actually been enjoying school. Today we mostly did games, fun but pretty much unrelated seatworks and other introductory things. I’m embracing all of it while things aren’t too stressful (and I know they will be eventually); junior year’s the hardest one, or so I’ve heard.
My class is pretty awesome though. I mean, my class was perfectly decent already but, by some kind of miracle, I had also ended up being classmates with my boyfriend, which is just the best possible thing that could’ve happened.
I have a feeling we’re going to become really close. The year’s just starting, and our class Facebook group is already practically abusing the Facebook group chat function. I’m usually really shy at the start of the year – actually, dangerously shy. This year, though, I find myself actually talking to people I’m not particularly close to without needing to force myself. And that is a big deal for me.
Believe it or not though, school was not highlight of this past week. Not my school, at least. I’ve already been pretty busy with choir stuff. Majority of my recent days have been spent in a university, practicing for a program that happened last Sunday. It was a pretty big event, and I’m proud to be a part of it, though I won’t go into to much detail about that; I wouldn’t want any of you to be finding out what school I go to, now would I? Not that I think you’d stalk me or anything, but it helps to take precautions.
Actually, I already have quite a bit of homework to do, so I should really stop typing now. The year’s just starting and I’m already procrastinating!
wow i never knew schools would start class in June >.<
Its great that you are enjoying your junior year though :)Comment by mayra • June 22, 2011 • 2:30 am
Well, I live in the US, so I’m on summer break right now. I get to start college this fall, though, which means I’ve got to make new friends and all that fantastic crap.
It’s good that you’re enjoying school; that makes life sooooo much easier.

Ah, no worries. I get to suffer with you even though my summer vacation should be starting in June, but I have summer school. hahah :) Junior year certainly was the hardest for me! It was so much pressure doing my best because I knew they were the grades that mattered most for college applications.
Aww, I remember having a class with my first boyfriend in my sophomore year of hs. It felt really lucky especially when we were assigned to sit right next to me! But those are old memories now, because he is an ex.
You’re in choir too! I was a choir fanatic from elementary until the end of high school. You said you’ve been practicing at a university for a program. Reminds me of the one we had too :) It was honor choir and was made up of select choir people to make one big choir from different schools. It was super fun, and a lot of practicing. I think choir was such a great experience, I do miss it.

Good thing that school is going well for you!! And yes, you should get that homework done :P I’m currently on my summer vacation. Next year’s going to be tough though. Last year in Uni, lot of final works to do, seminars to attend and..yeah.. that master thesis horror thing.

I’m glad you’ve been enjoying school so far! Hopefully the rest of the year will be just as good, and it’s awesome that you’re in class with your boyfriend!! :)
I’m the same way.. I’m usually very shy at the beginning of the year, what with all of the new kids and not having spoken to/seen many of the other kids for almost three months. I’ve gotten better in the past year or so, though! It’s good that you’re finding yourself becoming more social :D

Wow, you’ve started school already? Where I live, school just got out for the summer. That seems so odd. I feel like we’re in opposite time zones. xD
Congratulations on being a junior! I just finished my junior year. I do have to admit, it was the hardest out of my three years of high school, but it was manageable. You’ll be fine, trust me. :)
I’m usually very shy at the beginning of the school year as well, but I’ve been getting better. :)

Thank you! I’m glad you like my layout. I really love yours. I wish I could make a layout like this. :)
No kidding! I have a twin brother too. Which definitely makes me a fraternal twin. :)
Yepp, same here. Blogging is great for me, because though I’m shy, I have a lot to say.
Aw, cool! Good luck picking a college. :) It’s kind of exciting, isn’t it?
Wow, you could be my twin sister or something. Haha, we have a lot in common. Yes, choir is probably THE most important part of my school day. I adore it. :) I just made it into my school’s most advanced competitive choir this year, which will be exciting. :)
Thank you for stopping by my site!

I can relate to feeling so old. This upcoming year I’m going to be a senior, which is absolutely crazy! I feel like I was just a freshman walking through the high school doors like it was yesterday! I’m sure you’re going to have a great year! My junior year was really difficult, but it was also a lot of fun. I became a lot closer to people and became more outgoing. I’m a pretty shy person too, but sooner or later you just naturally become more comfortable talking to people and stuff. ^^
I used to be in choir and I loved preparing for competitions and things like that. I always felt so proud to be involved in something like that, especially when our choir did a really good job. Unfortunately I had to drop it though because it conflicted with my other classes. :/ What part do you sing, if you don’t mind me asking?
Thank you! I had tons of fun and it was amazing. Aw, I hope you can go there, too, someday! I think everyone deserves the chance to go there!
ClarisseI’m a soprano 1, if that’s what you mean. :)

I felt old when I first started saying I was a junior. Now I’m a senior. Oh boy, this is terrifying. In a year, I’ll be accepted in a college and enjoying my last summer of high school. Freaky stuff, man. Freaky stuff.
Your school seems interesting. The incoming senior class at my school has roughly 950 students, and we all have different people in every single class. We don’t have any class facebook pages. D: My school would probably suspend anyone who made a facebook page for a class. It sounds silly, and they probably wouldn’t actually go that far, but my school is crazy when it comes to online activity. My brother posted a video he shot at his locker on Youtube, and they gave him two Saturday detentions. I don’t see the point, but whatever.
I’m glad your school year is going well so far. You sounded so bummed about it for awhile there. Hopefully it doesn’t become too stressful. Junior year was definitely my toughest, but I had some issues at home and had to wake up at 5AM because of a stupid split schedule plan, and I know that hindered my school performance quite a bit.
All classes I know from around here is the same as mine in the way that we’re with the same people in every class. I guess it depends where you live, haha.

Just the fact that anyone can have classes in June is mind boggling to me but i guess that’s just because I’m use to having my classes end in may. It’s pretty awesome that you and your boyfriend ended up in the same class together! that just makes the year go by better. And it does help that the class is interesting too.
And don’t feel old just because your a junior! I just became a senior in college and I feel plenty young!!
