Procrastination

I’m barely ever able to finish anything I tell myself to. I just had to let my laziness get in the way. I promised myself I’d do so many things this summer:

  1. Finish reading Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West – I started reading it mid-2008. It’s already 2010, and I still haven’t finished reading it. For no reason, I just suddenly didn’t feel like reading anything anymore (which is weird since I used to read all the time). I’m pretty sure it’s been bookmarked to the same page for about a year.
  2. Do some scrapbooking – My scrapbook and my brothers’ scrapbooks are practically empty (actually, one of them is empty). Both my mom and I haven’t been able to do any scrapbooking this summer, even if we promised ourselves we would.
  3. Do something active – I never do anything active or sporty, and it’s making me feel like an old person. I told myself I’d do something active, but something seems to always gets in the way of it. All I did was play one game of bowling, if that even counts as anything.
  4. Tell people in my offline life about my website – I only told my family and like one other person…oops.

I really shouldn’t get used to procrastinating like this all the time, especially since it’s slowly getting closer and closer to the first day of school.

Note: In the Philippines, school starts in June.

LOL. I know, I hate correcting people. They always get mad. Haha.

I hope you get all of those lovely things done. Lol I don’t do anything active either. XD

When do you get out of school?? Really? Lots of people had silver i guess it was kinda the style or something i dunno lol. I got school on Tuesday so i’m seeing it monday. :D I cannot wait. :D

Procrastination is like a curse. I want to stop it but i just can’t. I always wait till last minute to do this. Only 1 person knows about my online life and i would soo love to keep it that way. :D

Oh how much I love to procrastinate! It’s probably one of my favorite hobbies. xD

Thank god I didn’t really make any plans for this summer though. I know I wouldn’t stick to them. But I am going to do something active and earn some money. :)

So I guess that’s enough to do for the summer.

I had a phase were I just couldn’t read anything too. It lasted for like a year or two and now I just read blogs and sometimes (every few months) a book.

I don’t think that not telling people offline about your website is procrastination! Maybe you just didn’t feel like it at that stage. :P Most of my offline friends know about my website, if not all. Some just don’t show any interest at all.

About Wicked – I feel the same way. I have this book that I got in 2006 or so at a book sale. It’s called The Grenadillo Box. I’m surprised I remember the name. I started reading it but it was a pretty hard read – it didn’t interest me very much. And I am definitely not the kind of person to pick up a book and put it down. I finish every single book I pick up… except, I think… the King of Torts by John Grisham. It was just SO BORING I had to put it down. It was just not my kind of book at all.

I need to become more active; I have a feeling my high cholesterol is going to go insane if I don’t exercise enough.

Thank you! I did have a good birthday; was more like a lazy day at home but yeah. :3

Good idea haha. Next time I’m stuck, chocolates is where it’s at.

I just thought the iPhone was amazing and something perfect for me since the iPod is in it. I got mine in January and I love it. I had a crappy phone before. :P

Comment by Georgina • May 30, 2010 • 10:38 pm

Hehe, I usually know barely any of the songs other people blog about too. :)

Oh wow! That’s why I alway finish one book before I start another one. I don’t wanna be in the middle of a couple of books and then be all confused about what happened in which book. xD

Comment by Swetlana • May 30, 2010 • 10:57 pm

Oh you guys started summer vacation before we did lol.

I didn’t have a choice. I won the silver shuffle in a competition and i’ve had it since then. I think i won it in 08′ and now i lost it in 2010. Wow i had a an ipod for two years lol.

My friends think it’s crap and whenever i try to explain it they just brush it off and say it’s stupid. Same goes for my parents so i’m going to keep it a secret.

“Procrastination is like masturbation. It’s good at first, until you find out that you just screwed yourself.”
I just had to say that.

I tried to read Wicked before. I gave up on it.

Scrapbooking is so fun. Whenever I scrapbook, it has to be on a specific subject so I won’t run out of pages.

You should play basketball, or jog. Since it’s summer, you should also go swimming.

I’ve only told a few close friends about my website. Whenever they check my website out, they leave spam comments. /sigh

Whoa, school starts in June? :O Wow.

I always set myself things to complete; but I rarely, if ever do complete them. I’m really lazy so that doesn’t really help. D:

Wow you started reading that book in 2008? :O I think you should definitely finish it, haha. I’m not really into reading for some reason. I haven’t read a book since I was about 15.

I’ve never done a scrapbook before. It sounds interesting though.

I play soccer once a week or so, but I feel I should exercise more frequently. I never have any energy and I’m always tired so maybe that’s why. Once the doctors find out what’s wrong with me I think I’d like to play soccer 2 or 3 times a week instead.

I’ve never told anyone offline about my website. Only my sister knows but she doesn’t know the URL or anything. You shouldn’t tell them if you don’t want to, though. It’s not something they NEED to know, if you get what I mean.

Good luck getting things completed, though. :3

I hate it when they ask those questions, it kinda annoys me because they make it seem like what you’re doing is wrong and lame and stupid. Just frustrates me a bit.

Comment by isi • May 31, 2010 • 7:17 am

Haha I know I won’t die but I keep self diagnosing online and convincing myself that I am haha. Well, they aren’t open on weekends and it’s a bank holiday today so that’s why they haven’t been able to call since. I’m sure it’s nothing serious, well at the moment anyway.

Lol yeah, you should definitely give them a listen. :)

Haha I guess you could so jogging or something? You don’t have to be good at jogging. xD

Oh that’s okay then. I prefer not to tell anyone offline about my “online life” I guess I feel more comfortable keeping them separately.

Comment by Vicky • May 31, 2010 • 9:10 pm

Haha yeah, but I guess I know something is wrong. I haven’t been feeling “right” for over a year. Probably longer, but it’s been far worse over the last few months.

Oh okay.. lmao yeah the Wii is amazing for that. :P I don’t have one but my boyfriend does; he works out a lot and uses the Wii for most of it. :P

The same thing happened to me when I tried to read Harry Potter. Now I just watch the movies.

One time I had to do a scrapbook for my club so I could get service hours. I only drew one page.

My parents want us to go to a beach in Florida, but they’re worried if the oil spill on the gulf will reach there.
Every year it keeps getting hotter in the summer.

Me, too. :O I remember telling one of my friends about an old subdomain I had, and they said, “Wow, that’s long.”

I live in the southeast U.S. I have to start school in August and end it in May. Well, over here summer doesn’t really begin until mid-June, and in August it is HOT. I still don’t understand why they made my school year like this.

Comment by Nugget • May 31, 2010 • 9:58 pm

For once I don’t really feel like going to the beach. I’d rather go to an attraction that doesn’t involve water.

One time I was checking a website that a student made, and one of my friends said, “You should’ve done the website. It would look so much better.”
I’ve always wanted to make a website for my friends but I think they would give up on it.

I hate it when it rains while it’s hot. While it’s raining the temperature cools down, but after that you can see the roads and pavements steaming.

Comment by Nugget • May 31, 2010 • 10:56 pm

Thank you, so do I. :)

LOL, that makes sense.. I usually sit down and play it because well, I’m lazy. I really like Mario Kart on the Wii though. :3

Comment by Vicky • May 31, 2010 • 11:53 pm

Haha yeah, I used to love all of the Mario games when I was younger. :) I have Mario VS Sonic on DS. xD

Comment by Vicky • June 1, 2010 • 12:10 am

I’ve played that on the Wii at my friends house.. it was so hard LOL!

I don’t even have a DS, it’s my sisters haha. I just use hers whenever I wanna play something.. or my boyfriends. I used to love playing Pokemon on my GameBoy. XD

If only I put it up last year. ;)
I have a friend who loves to do calligraphy. She even has a huge set that comes with different types of pens and some bottles of ink. It’s really cool. I tried to use her calligraphy pen once to write my name, but it didn’t work out so well.

Neopets is really strict about sharing links and language now.

I love the rain. It makes me calm and yet so happy.

Two years ago my class had to make websites with Front Page. I never liked website builders.

I remember when my friend and I were walking around campus in the rain, but I was still so hot so I had to take my jacket off.

Comment by Nugget • June 1, 2010 • 12:41 am

Yay! You’re a procrastinator too. :D so am I xP

I need to finish reading A book, period. I always begin to read books, but then stop halfway or less. I mean I like to read, I just never find good books.

I used to do scrap booking, but I got bored and put my scrapbook away ><

Woahhhh why are you going to tell offline people about your website. :O I rant about people in my site, I dont want them knowing. :O

Comment by Mandi • June 1, 2010 • 2:01 am

I didn’t read any books at all until 2009 when Twilight came out, so I’m really bad haha. :P I wish I wasn’t lazy. I feel like I’m uber lazy you know? Hehe.

Yeah! I want to do something with sports — cause like you I feel so old.

Comment by Pauline • June 1, 2010 • 4:17 pm

They really will not support me about at all. Whenever they see on the computer and ask what i’m doing, i just say “website stuff” and they reply with an “oh”
