Oh, How I Missed My CD Player

Ever since I got my iPod, I barely used my CD player. My old CD albums just sat there doing nothing – except, of course, when I imported the songs in them to my iTunes. It’s not like I got any new albums. I then realized; I love CD albums. So, while going around the mall with my mom, I decided to get 3 new ones. I looked around the music store, and I eventually bought Battle Studies (John Mayer), Alicia Keys (The Element of Freedom) and Boys Like Girls (Love Drunk). I’d like to think of it as a gift to myself. It’s not like I’m celebrating anything, but still. :))

Almost all the time, when I buy an album, I only know like 1 or 2 songs in it – 3 at most. I just love listening to awesome, new music. That was mainly my reason for buying all 3 of the albums I bought today. I’ve been listening to Alicia Keys and John Mayer a lot recently, hence my buying of their albums, though curiosity was the main reason I bought Love Drunk. I don’t particularly like them, but I do like a few of their songs, so, I decided, why not listen to more.

Honestly, they’re just really nice to look at – the CD, the cover, everything. Sometimes, I use them for inspiration, and, sometimes, I use them for decoration. I’m actually planning on framing a few album covers for decoration in my room. We’re redoing my room, and I needed something nice to put on one of the walls. :)

For now, I’ll just stop typing and start listening. :D

Haha, I apologise for the shameless plug in relation to your post, but I started this little album art project after seeing it online (apparently it started as a Facebook tag). I design these album covers each day (with a set of guidelines with links) and post them at meladori.info. :)

I’m actually more of a vinyl girl… yep, I collect those huge black round things! I like the quality of sound better and overall, they just seem more special.

However, before I pounced upon my dad’s collection, I did collect a lot of CDs. A store near my house sold them for cheap – mostly the singles though, for only $1! I love listening to new music but my taste varies sort of with my mood. I love a lot of bands and artists and genres, and listen to most things, but I don’t listen to much rap or RnB. I’m pretty much anti-mainstream but if there’s a catchy song out there, I’ll listen to it. Like Lady Gaga’s “Bad Romance”.

I really love John Mayer’s songs. I have only heard a few but usually with many artists, if I hear a few songs of theirs and like them, I will want to get my hands on a whole album of theirs. It’s how I came to like a lot of the music I do now. Which is mostly rock/metal/classics.

I like the experience of buying a brand new album and looking through the album art and listening to all the songs over and over. There is SO much music the world needs to discover, I believe. :)

My boyfriend got put as “Weirdest Kid” in the yearbook in high school. We were both on the yearbook committee though, and he knew everyone thought he was weird. XD He’s too lovable for me to think he’s weird anymore!

I think they just sold ice blocks at high school! It was all really tempting before they took out all the junk food, because I would be buying strawberry licorice in bags all the time.

It’s hard not to ignore bad grammar though – if I see one and I’m reviewing, I must point it out. If I see one in a blog, it might just slip past and I won’t mention it – but believe me, it’s hard not to!

She shouldn’t give what she can’t take lol.

I know you feel. My iPod got stolen and I have no music what so ever. I need to use my phone to listen to music but it’s still not the same.

Have you hear unthinkable by Alicia Keys?

I have my type of music I listen too. I never listen to rock music where boys were makeup and wear extra skinny jeans and I’m not really a boy band fan lol.

I ordered a new iPod online but I still haven’t received it yet. They need to hurry up.
I don’t see why people just steal, i mean does it make them feel better or what?
Rock music gives me a headache lol.
