I’m supposed to be thinking positively about school, right?

In a previous post, I’d talked about the things I thought I’d miss the most about summer, and a lot of you guys found it strange that I was talking about summer ending when all of your summer vacations were just beginning. That’s what being on the opposite sides of the world would do.

While it is slightly depressing reading all your blogs about your incoming summer vacation at a time like this, I honestly have missed a few things about school as well.

I’ve missed being more active without meaning to be. Just walking around during breaks is ‘being active’ compared to what I’ve been doing for majority summer vacation (kind of sad, I know).

I’ve missed not being bored. I’m going to hate myself for saying this in about a month, but, at least in school, you almost always have something to do (which isn’t always going to be a good thing).

I’ve missed singing with the choir. I could sing pop whenever I want to, but that’s nothing compared to the sort of serious singing that we do in school. A lot of the songs are actually fun to sing, and I love the feeling you get when you’ve finally mastered one of the harder songs.

I’ve missed my friends. I haven’t really seen my friends all summer, so this goes without saying.

Don’t kill me for this, but I’ve actually missed math class. I like using my brain, I like solving problems – is there anything wrong with that?

Besides the things I’d missed, I’ll also be looking forward to a few new things this school year.

I’m looking forward to bringing my little brother to his first class in a ‘big school’. He’s going to be joining us in our school, now that he’s out of preschool! He’s really excited for it, and so am I!

I’m looking forward to seeing the result of all the renovations. They’re changing a lot in our school this year, when I was there the other day I saw a lot of construction, a lot of demolition, and, while it is a bit of a disappointment seeing our old canteen crumble, I am looking forward to seeing what they’ve done.

They better get me good classmates, otherwise all this built up excitement is just going to go to waste, and I’m going to start complaining again.

I love it when the world doesn’t have everything that’s the same :P! Because all of us going to school at the school time would be horrible :C. A lot of people would be inactive like during school (since everyone goes to school at the time) and there would be no balance in the blogging world!

Instead of having everything happening all at once, I rather have things happening here and there. Like music. It shouldn’t be happening full time. You need a break like everything else xD! As long as it isn’t a buge break.

i hope your brother will enjoy the new school year :)! And same to you too :D I hope you’ll have fun seeing your classmates again ;D! Because that’s what we all need- a reunion :P!

I hope you’ll enjoy being a Junior :D! I know.. Junior year for me is a no go -___-!

Hope you will do something like the rocket project for phyisics or BETTER! :D!

I thought I was an alarm clock- because I always wake up before 7 without an alarm -___-!

Take care (:

Seriously, Clarisse, sometimes I feel like your blogs were written by me. Even though I’m just heading into summer vacation, when it is time for me to go back to school, I’m going to be looking forward to the same things…except for the choir part. I don’t sing. >.< But my school is going through renovations as well. They're adding a whole new wing where my single little math classroom used to be. A large portion of it was already built before I left, but the wall was blocked off so I couldn't see inside. And I'm 10x more active when I'm in school. The P.E. classes at my school are surprisingly rigorous. At one point, I was running a mile a day. Plus, the school is huge, so simply walking from class to class is good exercise.

And math. Oh, math. I'm taking the hardest math class in my school next year, which I'm nervously excited about. I've never had to put any effort into math before in my life. I've been able to do my homework while my teacher was lecturing since the start of high school. Every year I think that will change, but it never has. I'm wondering if this will finally be the year.

It's good that you're thinking about the positives. School is a pain, but it's much better when you don't let the negative aspects ruin it completely.

Everyone always tends to be really excited over leaving school for vacation so much that it’s all they think about. After the first week everyone wishes to go back. At least that was my way of thinking when I was in grade school. xP I think we all want a break every now and then, but we also want to feel like we’re doing something useful with our life, you know?

I don’t think it’s weird to miss things about school! I think we all do, actually, whether or not most of us admit it…. ahaha. I love having the routine and like you said, always having something to do.

Hopefully you have a good year! :)

Pahah I guess I’m a freak like you. I also miss these things when my summer starts coming to an end. I actually like having motivation to do things. When it’s summer time I just sit on my but and play on the computer, mostly haha. I totally get what you mean.

Right now I’m going into my third year of college and I’m also pregnant, due July 16 which is next month. I’m not working or anything right now and I didn’t take any summer courses because of being pregnant and uncomfortable in the heat lol. I kind of wish I did, though, because I just sit at home and do nothing. I don’t work or anything. My life has become to blah lol. I totally get what you mean.

Aww how cute! Kids always get so excited about school! Little do they know that one day they’ll probably hate it, hah! My nehpews and niece are in like 4th, 5th, and 6th grade and they’re already miserable haha. They hate it so much. I always tell them “How can you hate it now, you have such a long way to go!!”. Poor kids, hah!

Woah math! I also love math because it’s fun! But I don’t have the courage to say it in front of many people (in this case readers), because I know a lot of people hate this subject. Too bad I’ve already taken all the math courses in college and only major subjects are the ones left, which are the hard and boring ones. Agh!

Good to know that you’re ‘lil brother’s joining you in big school. Yay for you! Hope both of you will have have fun this schoolyear and everything turns out well. =)

Right before I go back to school, I feel like you. I want school to happen. I want to see my friends (especially the ones I haven’t seen during the summer) also I want to see how people change. Did someone get prettier? Did someone get better looking? I think everyone changes, so I love seeing their change. I also hate being bored. When I was younger during the last month of summer I use to be so bored. It was pretty bad. I wanted school. The first day of school I always love! I love the new clothes, books and just everything. Everyone is happy and the workload isn’t that bad.

I don’t know my feelings, lol I’ve been on and off for 9 months :( I get what you mean though, I need to figure it out. I am currently just waiting it out. WE did go to prom together lol Like whenever we are alone or something big happens (prom/partying) I always feel closer to him. I am afraid of hurting the relationship. He knows a lot about me.

well i only like math when i get the right answers! :)) hahah, . and i know what you mean by missing the times of being active and not being bored.. coz when i get to be so active in school with all the requirements needed to be passed and all that.. then suddenly summer starts and there’s nothing to be done, i find mysellf asking for something to do just to be active again like when there’s classes! :))

Be excited! To see your friends, and stuff like that. Think about the positive parts first. Don’t prepare yourself for stress or pressure. Be excited, and the excitement will perk you up. ;D

Aw, that is a bit depressing seeing everyone else’s blogs about summer vacation starting, but that’s great you’re staying positive! :D I always miss my friends over the summer. Everyone gets so busy with vacations and trips and whatnot that you don’t really get to see them as much as you’d like. Haha, I totally agree with the whole boredom thing. Near the end of the school year, I can’t wait to just sit on my butt and do nothing, not having to worry about school and all that, but then I get to summer and I wish I had something to do. :P I hope you enjoy your return to school and all the cool renovations! :)

That’s really sweet of you to say that. <3 It's been hard on all of my family, but I think we're all coming to the realization that if my grandpap does go, he won't be suffering anymore. I can't blame my grandma for taking it harshly; she's lived her whole life with him and now he's just deteriorating before her. Thanks again for your comment; it really means a lot. :)
