Easily Entertained
Recently, I’ve been watching a bit of basketball. I’m not a sporty person, nor do I enjoy watching anything with the slightest resemblance to sports, so this is a bit of a shocker. I only watched two or three times, not even watching the beginning, but it’s a start.
I don’t want to go into details since I don’t know most basketball terms nor any of the players’ names (I’m practically clueless), so I’ll just say that it’s Lakers versus Celtics. I can’t really say that I’m rooting for any of them to win, but I know that my boyfriend wants the Celtics to win. So, when my brother’s friend (who, from what I know, is a huge Lakers fan) went online in Yahoo! Messenger with a display picture insulting the Celtics, they just suddenly began to argue. They didn’t even know each other – not personally, at least. Most of it didn’t even have anything to do with basketball; it was basically just all these swear words and insults with names of players or teams inserted in between.
It was stupid and juvenile. Regardless, I have to say that it looked like a lot of fun. I actually wanted to reply myself a few times, but I didn’t want to become a part of it. I felt like I didn’t have a right to since basketball isn’t exactly my thing (even if they weren’t really talking about basketball). I did reply once, but I barely said anything. Most of the time, I was just watching them since, honestly, it was hard not to. I just found two people arguing in all caps about nothing at all so amusing for some reason.
It’s amazing how entertaining complete nonsense can be.
