Christmas Wishlist
Christmas is getting closer and closer, and I often find myself looking for presents I want as early as the start of October (yes, that early). For some reason, I just love browsing the Internet for awesome things, even if I know I won’t get them. Naturally, this “hobby” has the tendency to tempt. It’s hard to stop yourself from spending when there’s just so much to spend on sometimes, but I’m trying not to give in to that temptation.
I’ve been trying to save, actually – not for anything in particular. I just want to save so that when I do stumble upon something I really, really want, I can get it at once without needing to worry too much about the price.
There are so many things I want to buy now though, but a lot of them seem like the types of things that wouldn’t last me that long. They seem like the types of things that I would be addicted to at first but get bored of later on. They’re still pretty awesome though.
- Kindle – I’m sure I’ve mentioned this before, but I haven’t been reading as much as I’d like to recently. I used to read all the time. I was actually considering asking for this as my Christmas present; I wanted to get a Kindle since, maybe, it would’ve given me motivation to read again. But then I thought, what if it doesn’t? What if I’m just not a reading person anymore? It would’ve just been a waste of money.
- Apple iPad – I’m not gonna pretend I’m not even slightly shallow and say I don’t want this. Sure, it’s pretty much just an over-sized iPod touch (with a really stupid name), but an over-sized iPod touch would be kinda awesome.
- The Magic Wand Remote Control – I don’t watch that much T.V. nor am I a huge Harry Potter fan or anything, but I still want it.
- HTC Desire Z – The next time I get a phone, I want it to be an HTC phone. There was even a time that one of their older phones were already put into the ranks of the iPhone! This one not only has a huge screen, but it also has a QWERTY keyboard. I’m sure I can’t afford this one though, and it is pretty big, but, next year, I’m definitely getting a new HTC phone!
- RGB Sensor Pen – It’s basically a pen that scans the color of any object and mixes the ink inside the pen to match. It’s pretty cool, huh?
- Stuff from Threadless – I went on an “online window shopping spree” on Threadless the other day, and, I have to say, that store’s amazing.
- Qlocktwo – It’s a clock that uses words instead of numbers – how unique! Too bad it’s the price of a laptop.
- Light Touch – Light Touch can transform any flat surface into an interactive touch screen simply by projecting a screen on it. Need I say more?
Ooo! Interesting wishlist! I have not created a Christmas wishlist for myself as I don’t have the time to properly sit and think about it. But basically the things I want for Christmas are listed in your wishlist like the iPad and the Kindle. But I gotta admit every last thing in that wishlist of yours is truly awesome. :)
It’s good that you want to save up money not because for anything in particular. I’ve been trying to do the same. I know how hard it is to earn money and it is really important to save them up for rainy days but I just can’t resist spending them. I succumb to temptation easily. Ah me. :)

I didn’t get the car for my mom, can’t afford it myself. It was my dad’s gift actually. heheheh.
Yeah Krystal’s neclaces are really nice but they run out all too fast and some of the ones I want are already sold out. Oh I didn’t know that you aren’t allowed to buy stuff online. :/ It would be great if you could. But that has a bad effect, it makes shopping all too easy and you can end up buying things you don’t really need. :pComment by Kitty • October 27, 2010 • 8:14 am
“Online window shopping spree” – I have those ALL the time. Usually looking at band merch or jewellery. I’ve done one on Threadless already; ages ago. :D I think I’m over the shirts… I have a bunch from there and I think I might be growing too old for the style or they don’t suit me. I know my mum doesn’t like me wearing t-shirts all the time! :P
I will admit I want an iPad too. They just look like so much fun. I don’t think it’s shallow that anyone would want one. It is a “pointless” product but I can also see why it would be useful!
I feel like I have also lost my touch for reading. I haven’t read in a while and I don’t read unless someone makes me. :| I really did love reading a lot before, and I read books all the time. But that’s stopped. I don’t really bother reading. Having e-books on my iPhone has made me want to read there, but it hasn’t completely brought back my love for reading.
I remember seeing the sensor pen a while ago! I haven’t seen any recently or anything, though. There’s such new technological stuff coming out, it’s tempting to get. Soon they’re going to have e-paper that’s made from graphene or something. It’s crazy!

Hmmm, I think I’ve talked about Super Chicken before…
I totally forgot about the comic. I was flooded with work this week, and I’ll be super busy next week.
I’m saving up my money. I remember spending $30 in one week on useless things. I’ve actually earned money now. I’m not using the money for electronics. I’m saving up to buy some art supplies that I’ve had my eye on for a few months now.
The RGB sensor pen sounds so cool. I’m going to google it right now.Comment by Nugget • October 30, 2010 • 3:37 am
Oh, I crave for a Kindle pad too, but unfortunately it’s not available in Europe/Italy. *sigh* =__= That device would really help me save more paper, as I could study directly on there. Too bad I can’t purchase one. Oh well, I hope it will be made available here one day.
It’s true, searching for “yummy” items makes the whole saving up harder for our will, as temptation is strong.. but you can do it. :) Blogging about it surely helps too.
*hugs* Take care, and always thank you for your comments. ^^
