Bragging Rights
5 comments Rants, BraggingThere will always be boastful people out there – people who are way too proud of their own success and achievements and feel the need to tell everyone around them about all these things. I don’t blame them for being happy about their accomplishments. It’s only natural. Some people just overdo it.
While these types of people do annoy me, what annoys me even more are the people who imagine themselves to be more talented than they really are – the ones who let the tiniest achievements get to their heads, who let the tiniest bit of talent make them start thinking they’re all-that. Those are the people that really, really piss me off.
They get overexcited about every single one of their insignificant accomplishments and go around bragging about these things to everybody as if they were so incredible. They get big-headed, without the talent or skills to back it up.
When people like this start bragging in front of me, I try as hard as I can not to say anything, but in my head, it’s like I’m screaming, “OMG, CAN YOU PLEASE JUST SHUT UP FOR LIKE 5 MINUTES? IT’S NOT ACTUALLY THAT BIG A DEAL.”
While I obviously don’t like these people, I do pity them. The only reason I can think of for them to be so happy about such little things is that, maybe, that’s the best life gets for them. They like to tell people about these things because they’d want to feel accomplished every chance they get, since opportunities to be boastful comes very seldom for them. That’s just my guess, but, then again, I wouldn’t really know.

Hey! :D
I think this is one aspect that makes casting shows SO ENTERTAINING. All those people that sign up and think they are so freaking talented and all their friends tell them how freaking awesome they are and then they walk around thinking they are the king/queen or what else. It’s stupid – BUT hilarious at the same time.
I personally don’t like people like that either. They just piss me off!
It’s awesome that they achieved something great and want to tell the entire world about it – I can think of moments where I wanted to do that too – but sometimes it’s just too much.

I have friends that brag a lot, but they do it subtlety so they don’t think anyone will notice. I’ve learned to just ignore it and forget about it, but some of my friends can’t. It annoys them so much. I know some people don’t even do it on purpose, like I have a friend that brags about her accomplishments, but with the desire to be pitied, if that makes sense? She’ll say “I don’t know what to do, as class president I have to write this speech, but I have to accept an award tomorrow for _____(insert random smart award here).”

Bragging really bugs me as well. Sometimes it’s hard not to contain my excitement when something really great happens for me, but I usually do what I can not to brag. I’m thankful for the talent and skill that I have. Bragging just makes me feel like I’m focusing too much on it’s current level instead of working to make it even better.

Bragging is not really my thing. I don’t do it much mostly because there is nothing to brag over. Some people brag over new clothes, phones and material things like that. It’s not really big. When they buy their own cars or maybe move out of their parents house, then they can brag.
Things have been going well with my little issue. I’ve been ignoring it.

Some people do brag about the tiniest things, but most people I know who do that actually acknowledge that they’re making a big deal out of something small. They say that they know it’s small but they’re still happy. I try not to judge people too much, when it comes to bragging. But I know some people brag about the same thing over and over, and that’s when it’s definitely time to stop!
I’ll admit I brag about things sometimes when I’m really proud of something I just achieved, but the fever will die down and I’ll cut it out with the bragging.
I used to get rid of extra change by giving it to buskers on the street. But now I think I’m getting a little stingy, hahaha. ;)
