American Idol Season 9: Top 6
This week, the contestants all sang Shania Twain songs. I’m not exactly a country music, but, in my opinion, they all generally did a good job.
Lee Dewyze did an amazing job, as usual. He’s so much more confident now than he was before.
I was worried about Michael Lynche at first; he’s definitely not a country singer. When Big Mike sang though, the song didn’t sound country at all. He made it more RnB. He did a really good job.
Casey James did sing really well too. This performance was one of the few he’s had where he was singer playing the guitar and not a guitarist singing. He could’ve opened his eyes a bit more though; they were only actually open at the beginning and the ending.
There were very high expectations for Crystal Bowersox; after all, this was country, this was her genre. She sang well, as usual, but, compared to her past performances, it paled in comparison. For some reason, it just didn’t feel like it was enough.
I’m not a huge fan of Aaron Kelly. He’s always seemed really boring to me. He did sing well this week though, so I have to give him that.
Siobhan Magnus has been my favorite for a long time though she’s been disappointing me with her recent performances, so I was nervous for her before she sang. Some parts in the first half of the performance seemed slightly awkward to me, just slightly. Maybe because she’s not the kind of person who would sing country. The end was good though. Overall, she sang pretty well.
I have no idea who’s going to leave. Based on these performances, I can’t see any of them leaving. Because of this, the results in tomorrow’s show are mainly going to be based on fanbase size and not their performances, so I’m starting to get worried.
