Procrastination

I’m barely ever able to finish anything I tell myself to. I just had to let my laziness get in the way. I promised myself I’d do so many things this summer:

Finish reading Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West – I started reading it mid-2008. It’s already 2010, and I still haven’t finished reading it. For no reason, I just suddenly didn’t feel like reading anything anymore (which is weird since I used to read all the time). I’m pretty sure it’s been bookmarked to the same page for about a year.
Do some scrapbooking – My scrapbook and my brothers’ scrapbooks are practically empty (actually, one of them is empty). Both my mom and I haven’t been able to do any scrapbooking this summer, even if we promised ourselves we would.
Do something active… (read more) – I never do anything active or sporty,

I Love Little Kids

The things they say just seem so interesting to me. So many times I wondered what could be going on in their tiny heads. I talk to my little brother a lot. Sometimes, I talk to my younger cousins. Some of the things they say can be strange, annoying or confusing – either way, I still get intrigued by the way they think and see things.

Their thoughts can be pretty amusing.

There was this one time when my cousin and I were playing with this candle. We weren’t doing anything dangerous; we were just blowing the flame a bit. We were watching it and talking about how the “fire got big and exploded”, as my little cousin had said. After that, he started to say something along these lines, “If I butterfly went to the fire then it will be fired and die. It will go on the (read more)

We Will Miss You, Simon

Just this morning, I was watching the beginning of the finale of American Idol’s 9th season. The main purpose of it was to announce this year’s winner. Despite this, I’d like to think of it as a tribute to Simon Cowell. I wish this season wasn’t his last. I don’t think it would ever feel quite right without his painfully honest critique. When I think of American Idol, I think of Simon Cowell. In many ways and to many people, Simon Cowell is American Idol. It just won’t be the same without him.

In between all the Simon Cowell memories, there were some amazing performances, but I’d have to say that my favorite one was when General Larry Platt went on the stage and performed Pants on the Ground. I couldn’t stop laughing, especially when William Hung suddenly showed up and sang. I love it when they put in … (read more)

Oh, How I Missed My CD Player

Ever since I got my iPod, I barely used my CD player. My old CD albums just sat there doing nothing – except, of course, when I imported the songs in them to my iTunes. It’s not like I got any new albums. I then realized; I love CD albums. So, while going around the mall with my mom, I decided to get 3 new ones. I looked around the music store, and I eventually bought Battle Studies (John Mayer), Alicia Keys (The Element of Freedom) and Boys Like Girls (Love Drunk). I’d like to think of it as a gift to myself. It’s not like I’m celebrating anything, but still. :))

Almost all the time, when I buy an album, I only know like 1 or 2 songs in it – 3 at most. I just love listening to awesome, new music. That was mainly my reason … (read more)

First Impressions

This summer, as fun as summer is, has the tendency to get a bit boring sometimes, and I find myself thinking about school – not about the education but about the people.

Thinking about the first day of school, I think about first impressions. When you first enter the classroom, you see some familiar faces and some not-so-familiar faces. In the first few days of school, you meet some nice people and some not so nice people. Some people make good first impressions and some don’t. There were some people I found annoying. There were some people I found rude. There were some people I found lazy. There were some people I found annoying, rude and lazy. Though most of them did live up to my expectations, I found a few pleasant surprises here and there.

A lot of people are completely different once you get to know them. Take … (read more)
