100 posts?

I never thought I’d reach 100 posts, but I’ve done it. It may not seem like a lot to a few other bloggers I know who have probably reached about 1000 posts by now, but, for me, this is a huge accomplishment.

This blog site is actually my first. I’ve never really been a blogger, owning resource sites in the past but never really writing. I’m glad my first one turned out so well, outlasting every single one of my former websites by quite a bit.

I’d never seen myself as much of a writer, but over the past year or so I’d found myself enjoying it. I love talking and all, but, for some reason, I find it much easier to explain my thoughts through writing.

While I know I’ve definitely done more complaining than praising when it comes to my writing, that’s not to say that there aren’t a few gems in there. With that, I’ll be leaving you with 5 of my favorite blog posts. It wasn’t too hard to choose since I’d already had a few in mind. A couple more almost made it, but I’d decided that 5 was a much nicer number than 7, so I trimmed the list down a bit.

My 5 Favorite Blog Posts

(in no particular order)

My Life Is Awesome :D May 7, 2010
This isn’t a very impressive post in terms of writing. It’s a short post, only 89 words long, and it doesn’t say much. But I love this post so much because it reminds me of that moment in time, that shift in the way I looked at life. When I wrote this post, I was so happy and so grateful for everything I had, as I am now. Nothing special even happened that day for me to realize that; I just did. It was the most important realization of my life.

Insults Turned Compliments September 5, 2010
A lot of people made fun of me for the way a looked. They made fun of these insignificant things that weren’t even ugly, and I wrote this post because I realized how stupid it was for me to feel insecure about those things. I think I’m a pretty person, and I don’t see why my pale skin and short height should change that.

Over-educated October 9, 2010
This post was a summary of my feelings towards last school year, which was the main focus of quite a few of my blog posts. The new curriculum was just too much for us to take. The school tried to do everything at the same time by remaining a traditional school while implementing a non-traditional curriculum. The school was striving for an impossibility, in my opinion.

First Impressions May 24, 2010
While it’s impossible to be completely unbiased, we should try not to let quick judgements control our expectations of others. I actually chose to put this post here, not because of the content, but because it has inspired someone very important to me. Because of that, this post will always mean something to me.

“Don’t take it too seriously.” February 2, 2011
A lot of people have been terribly judgemental about my relationship. Age has nothing to do with how long a relationship will last. Why should I not take my relationship seriously, if, to me, the only reason young relationships don’t last is because they don’t take these relationships seriously?

If you add all the numbers in the archive, you will end up with a sum of 107, and that’s because it had included all the about pages, as they are actually posts and not pages. I find it easier to code for WordPress when I do it that way.

100 posts seems like a lot to me. :P It seems as if I’ll never get there.

I enjoyed reading First Impressions and Insults Turned to Compliments. All of your blog posts are quite interesting and easy to read, though. It doesn’t seem like I have to force myself through them, which is nice. :)

Congrats on you 100 posts!!!! Yay!

I just wanted Aww, you’re Filipino. My boyfriend is too <3 He's as dark as heck, and the irony is that HE feels self-conscious about that. However, we live in the United States, so I guess that's why there aren't that many people here who are as dark as he is. When I'm with him, people call me "the white girl" (which I am not by the way, I'm Asian too) and it makes ME self-conscious about being so pale. Lol! But in the end, whateverrrr! I love my boyfriend along with his skin color, and I'm happy with my paleness too (less skin cancer for me if I don't spend hrs in the sun tanning!). :)

And I say FOOEY to people who look down on high school relationships – I may have had the worst heart break of my life, but I also found a new love that I am still with today (total of 4+ years) in college. You are a wise, wise girl to have known all these things. hehe.

Cheers to another 100 and more blog posts!

Haha 100 blog posts sure seems like a lot to me! I don’t even know how many I have. Now I’m curious lol. Definitely nowhere near 100. That’s only because I had FanUpdate for a long time (years ago) and then I never transfered those over so I lost them. Also, I’ve lost my WordPress a few times and so went all my blog posts with that haha. So I guess that would be why. I’m sure in total I’ve probably got a crap ton, but we’ll never know. Anyway, congratulations on having 100 blog posts! :)

I agree completely. She is significantly more musically talented than most of the other people in her genre. Someone who can actually sing or play an instrument is very unlikely now-a-days.

You should definitely be proud to have posted 100 blogs! Especially if this is your first place. I remember my first place back when I was 18. It feels like eons ago, but these things are definitely something to celebrate. Congratulations!

Comment by Jessa • June 25, 2011 • 7:05 am

Congratulations on writing 100 posts, and hopefully there will be another 100 from you in the future. I just checked and right now I have 41 posts, combining my posts on Art Maestro and OffNo. I also blogged on chickalent.info and theoutlandish.com, which are really old, but those posts were with FanUpdate and I lost the RSS files. I also just realized that I’ve gone through so many domains. O_O

First Impressions and Don’t Take It Too Seriously are the blog posts that I remember the most, and they are my favorite. I haven’t read Insults Turned Compliments is also a good blog post because it really is inspirational and positive.

I really do think that you are a wonderful writer because of the way you reel your readers in and how you discuss your topics, and I want to see you continue that trend. Keep on writing.

Comment by Nugget • June 25, 2011 • 8:41 am

Congratulations on having 100 posts already! To be honest, if you combined them together and edited them, I’m fairly sure with another 25 posts or so you could compile a diary-like book. Oh dear, my writing obsession is getting worse.

I personally find it easier to write to people than talk to them. Somehow, I’m a shy kid, when both my parents are social, and my brothers are social as well. I only am hyper and able to speak up loud when my friends or family are around, but otherwise I usually stay quiet.

Online, though, I can type harsh opinions and construct them slowly into tactful comments. Offline, I would just say harsh things straight because I find it hard to construct my words offline. I really think online is a great world, instead of the pressuring offline.

I usually have ideas for layouts, but I simply can’t find a way to code them. I have only average knowledge in coding, and I’m horrible at WordPress. I sure can edit a theme, as I kind of know the codes that WordPress have for the blog posts, pages, and things. However, I’m horrible at drawing and so on.

Thank you! :) Keep writing, you definitely make a good writer.

If I haven’t deleted my old posts, still have my previous domains and blogs, I think I’d prolly have about 500 posts since I was soo active in blogging during my high school days. Having 100 post is actually no joke. Congrats with that!! Keep blogging!!

Comment by Dianne • June 25, 2011 • 3:01 pm

I reached 100 posts a while back… I wrote a post for my 63rd post, but it’s filled with pointless nothings. I didn’t really pay attention to my count because I forget easily, and when it happens, and I have blogged about something else for that milestone, then I just drop the whole thing. I do plan on talking about my 200th post when that happens, though! ^^

Congratulations on reaching yours!! :)

I’ve actually written more than what I have now, but the whole “new blogging era” thing sort of makes that exempt. :)

Interesting favorites. :3

Comment by Liz • June 25, 2011 • 3:31 pm

Congrats on 100 posts! That’s amazing. I’ve personally found myself lazy and lacking in the blog department. I really love to write, but for some reason, I don’t put that passion towards my blogs. Maybe I should start. I’m now inspired. :)

Your blog posts are very easy to read, and interesting. Good job! :)

I know what you mean. I don’t want to grow up!! *throws childish tantrum* Haha. :) But really, I’m getting used to the idea. I just don’t want to leave everything I have right now behind, to be an adult. At least, not yet. :P

Oh, good! I hope you get into that college. I’m sure you will. :) I’m scared for college too. :P

Thank you! I was hoping it looked cleaner. :)

Congratulations on hitting 100 posts! Milestones are definitely worth celebrating. :3 I remember most of those posts and I actually went to check if I had commented on them. (Weird reading back on old comments that I wrote.) I know your blog posts are short but coming from you, not seeing yourself as much of a writer, that’s a good thing. :D I think your blogs are always interesting and really deep and thoughtful. I enjoy reading and commenting on them as I feel I can relate a lot of the time. I love that you’ve found your favourite posts, I ought to do that with mine some day! :)

Comment by Georgina • June 25, 2011 • 10:50 pm

Thats a lot you know.. and besides you are active in your blog, maybe you can reach more than a thousand post, and keep the readers interested and also your fans :)

Comment by Jerminix • June 26, 2011 • 11:46 am

I am close to 100. I am not sure how I did it myself hah. Congratulations :-)

Comment by sage • June 26, 2011 • 1:09 pm

congrats sis! That’s a lot thinking the fact that this is your first blog. :)

Comment by ohlockedheart • June 26, 2011 • 9:08 pm

I’m definitely going to have to jack this idea when I hit 100 posts…which is still pretty far away. I think I’m somewhere near 70? 30 of those are from April alone. Perhaps that will be my goal – hit 100 by the end of the year. It’s not much of a goal since there’s no way I won’t reach it unless I fall off the face of the earth, but still.

I wasn’t around for any of those posts, so I went back and read through them all. I quite like the first one. It’s short, sweet, and too the point. The blog world is full of whiners and pessimists, so I love reading happy blogs. You sounded so exuberant. I liked the one about insults and over-educated ones, too. It seems odd that you would be so made fun of for your light skin. I don’t live in the Philippines, obviously, but I would think something unique like that would be sought-after. I know that I always wish I had NATURALLY (as in not by toasting myself in a tanning bed) darker skin because I’m surrounded by white people most of the time. And people with dark skin look good in yellow. I’ve always envied that.

Yay for your 100th blog post! I’ve been blogging for quite some time now and I’ve written a lot of posts already. I used to run multiple blogs featuring different topics but when I first got my own domain, I was able to manage them into different categories and subdomains.

I’d be reading your top 5 posts because they seem really interesting. My top posts are mostly from my 2010 archives too. ^_^

Comment by Nagashiko • June 27, 2011 • 12:29 pm

Congrats on 100 posts! That is quite a bit :) I currently have about 80, and it’s hard to believe! lol I’ve had quite a few other blogs, though :x

You definitely should be proud of your writing! Although I’m a fairly new visitor, I’ve enjoyed every blog of yours that I’ve read!

Comment by Jessica • June 28, 2011 • 3:08 am

Aw, congrats on your 100th blog post! It doesn’t matter how many other people have or if they have a lot more than you, it’s still amazing to hit that milestone. They had to get their eventually too! I think I only have like 30 posts, but my site is relatively new, so, yeah. Haha.

I was kind of the complete opposite of you, I never was a resource site or anything. My sites before mine now were always just blogs with nothing else. Aaand they all sucked. :P

Thank you! I kept a journal on my trip so I would be able to remember everything, so when I feel like getting around to it, I’ll start posting about my trip with pictures. Ha, if you think I took a lot of pictures, some of my friends took like 2,000! It was crazy!

Comment by Becca • June 28, 2011 • 4:10 am

Congrats on this really nice achievement! I’ve always been a blogger (for almost a decade now, actually) so it’s not much of a big deal for me if I reach 100 posts or something. I’m just really happy for you coz at least you were able to keep a blog and you have an online outlet where you can pour your innermost thoughts and such. Just keep writing and i’m sure you’ll really get the hang of it eventually :)

Comment by Gel • June 29, 2011 • 1:30 am

Congratulations on the huge milestone! 100 posts, wow that’s amazing to me. I really enjoy writing but I don’t dedicate as much time to it as I’d like, certainly not as much as you. I believe I don’t even have twenty posts yet. Regardless of how many posts other bloggers have, one hundred is a big accomplishment. So you should definitely be feeling chuffed with yourself. :)

I find it’s easy to lose interest with resource sites. Every website I’ve had started with that intention but I spend more of my time blogging. I find it much more fulfilling. I’ve been meaning to make a proper switch but I’m too lazy to go and remove all my content. How old is this site, out of interest? About two years?

I’ve read a few of those posts. Definitely the over-educated one. First Impressions rings a bell too. I’ll have to go back and read them. You’re a good writer. It’s a good thing you did get into blogging.

It must be quite difficult if people think you look younger than you do. I suppose it can be good or bad. Bad because of age restrictions but good because you get discounts, like you said. I’m past that now, I get charged as adult for everything. But luckily I have a friend who’s smaller than me and she gets away with child’s prices, so I just follow behind her and ask for the same. XP

It’s great you can feel comfortable with yourself, sincerely too. I’m comfortable with myself to a certain extent, but not as much as I wish to be. I envy you.

This site is a year and a couple of months old. :)

Comment by Aileen • June 29, 2011 • 2:19 am

Congrats on getting 100 posts! I’ve actually just posted my 30th post right now. I would have more had I recovered the 10-15 entries when I was on a sub-domain but I’m content with the 30 I have; just reminds me that I need to blog more! I go on too many hiatuses so if I hadn’t gone on that long 7 – 8 month break, I know I would have a lot more right now.

You might be surprised to know but not many people actually have that many because they never get that far; they either get bored with blogging and leave for good or they keep changing sub-domains/domains and not caring about their archives. Either way it truly is an incredible feat! Maybe I’ll do something when I get to 50 as it’s approaching pretty quickly.

Comment by Kelsey • June 29, 2011 • 3:30 am

Congrats on 100 posts! It took you a year and a few months, mine to me about 2 years to reach 94. :O But when you take breaks it hold you back. Like Kelsey said :P I think you should be really proud of the accomplishment, its not something that happens every day you know. xD

Comment by Domenica • July 1, 2011 • 1:16 am

Congrats on getting 100 posts! You’re posts are pretty interesting to read which is a good thing :)

I think i’m only on my 55th post at the moment, but I’m still pretty happy with it. In the past I would combine all my sitely updates and blogs in one, and call it a “blog”… eventually I realised that wasn’t really right, and now try to differentiate the two :) I hope I manage to stay with this blog, or at least back up the posts, till I reach 100! That would really be amazing!

How did you surprise go for your father? I hope he enjoyed it :)

Comment by Aashni • July 1, 2011 • 3:16 am

100 posts seems like a lot to me. Its not like it’s a twitter account. Writing blogs take time and effort. Yay to you for reaching 100! I hope you reach 100 more.(:

I also like that you highlighted your 5 favorite blog posts. Great way to celebrate your 100th post.

I suppose. I just don’t think most people would find me sitting in front of the computer doing web design all day interesting. I tried to explain it to my friend kara last night, but I think I slightly confused her xD

Racing games are the best. I prefer them to role playing games, or games like call of duty or where you blow people up. Blowing things up sounds like fun, but i just don’t like it in video game form. Plus I’m awful at it, like really. Really bad. Haha
